What we kept coming back to: the Capital Region has real inventory — Loudonville colonials, Niskayuna mid-century houses, Saratoga Victorians, Troy brownstones — and real families moving out of them every month. What it didn't have was a place to sell the good stuff that wasn't either a chaotic Facebook Marketplace thread or a full-scale estate sale weekend. Keepstead is the option in between: curated, local, and built by someone who lives here too.

On purpose

Why we're starting small

We're launching with a Founding Circle of a handful of people we know and trust — not a public sign-up flood. That's deliberate. A founder-vetted marketplace only works if the founder can actually vet things, which means growing at the pace a real person can keep up with, not the pace a growth chart demands. What's next

Once we've proven this works for a small circle of Capital Region sellers and buyers, we'll open Keepstead more broadly — and, eventually, launch a version built for a different kind of move entirely: college move-in and move-out season. More on that in our FAQ.
