Keepstead is a private, invite-only marketplace for curated moving-sale and estate finds across the Capital Region. Sellers list quality furniture, décor, and estate-contents pieces; every listing is founder-vetted before it goes live; buyers purchase in-app and pick up locally.

Request one on our home page — just your name, email, town or ZIP, and whether you're interested as a seller, buyer, or both. We read every request ourselves and reach out directly; there's no automated approval.

Sellers keep 85% of the sale price. Keepstead takes a 15% fee — no listing fees, no photography fees, no upsells for “featured” placement. If your item doesn't sell, you owe nothing. Founding Circle members get a reduced rate on their first sale.

It means a real person looks at every listing before it goes live — checking photos, condition notes, and fit for the platform. We deliberately don't use words like “authenticated” or “guaranteed,” because those imply a level of formal verification we're not claiming at this stage. Founder-vetted is an honest description of what we actually do.

Neither, exactly. Facebook Marketplace is open and unfiltered — anyone can post anything, and buyers are on their own to judge quality and trust. Estate-sale companies run in-person sale weekends for a full house. Keepstead sits in between: a curated, always-open online marketplace for individual pieces, with a real vetting step Facebook doesn't have and a lower-friction listing process than a full estate sale requires.

Pickup is arranged directly between buyer and seller once a sale goes through, in the item's local area — no shipping. We recommend meeting at a porch, driveway, or another semi-public spot for smaller items rather than a full walkthrough with someone you've just met, and we never publish a seller's exact address. Quality furniture, textiles and rugs, art, mirrors, lighting, and considered décor — the kind of pieces that come out of well-kept Capital Region homes during a move, downsize, or estate settlement. If you're not sure whether something fits, ask during your invite conversation; part of our process is helping you figure out what belongs here versus what's better donated or sold elsewhere.

Buyers pay in-app at purchase. You're not chasing cash, Venmo requests, or “is this still available” texts — payment is handled through Keepstead's system and paid out reliably once the sale is complete.

We're focused on the Capital Region — Loudonville, Niskayuna, Saratoga Springs, Clifton Park, Troy, Albany, Schenectady, and the towns around them. If you're just outside that area, request an invite anyway and tell us your town — we're figuring out our exact footprint as we grow.

Campus Edit is a collection we're planning for college move-in and move-out season, built for the furniture-and-dorm-goods cycle at Capital Region colleges — think end-of-May move-outs feeding into August/September move-ins.
